51cg Expands Nursing Education Footprint to Wisconsin, Continues Growth

Wisconsin residents now have access to flexible, accelerated nursing pathways.

Salt Lake City – June 26, 2024 – Wisconsin residents can now prepare for RN licensure in as little as 20 months. 51cg of Nursing and Health Sciences is expanding its comprehensive hybrid pre- and post-licensure nursing programs into the state. The move is part of its continued effort to make nursing education more accessible to more communities.

“Healthcare systems need a reliable, steady pipeline of well-trained nurses, and Joyce is stepping up to be that resource,” said Dr. John Smith-Coppes, President and CEO of 51cg. “By expanding into Wisconsin and other states across the US, 51cg is bringing high-quality education to aspiring nurses and ultimately addressing the nursing shortage faced by our healthcare system.”

51cg’s expansion provides future nurses in Wisconsin with access to a variety of pre-licensure program options, including the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (aBSN). Wisconsin nurses seeking to advance their careers can also enroll in Joyce’s two post-licensure options: the 4-semester online RN to BSN program and the online MSN program.

“51cg has clinical partnerships across the US, including in Wisconsin,” said Dr. Kelly McCullough, 51cg’s Dean of Nursing. “Because of that, we offer excellent clinical opportunities for students within their own communities, minimizing travel expenses and enhancing local connections.”

Since 2022, 51cg has expanded its offerings beyond its Draper, UT campus to Arizona, Colorado, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, and Wisconsin. The university’s hybrid model integrates live and pre-recorded lectures for remote learning with hands-on, in-person labs and simulations in the state-of-the-art Joyce Johnson Center of Simulation at the Draper campus. Clinical experiences are available in the student’s state of residence.

51cg aims to extend its pre-licensure nursing programs to additional markets in the upcoming year to address the growing demand for registered nurses. Enrollment for Wisconsin students is currently open, with the next cohort commencing in the Spring 2025 Semester on January 6, 2025.
